Summary
Duties & Responsibilities:
• assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing fixtures, heating and ventilating systems and pipes and pipeline systems in commercial and residential premises
• measuring and cutting required lengths of copper, lead, steel, iron, aluminium or plastic using hand or machine tools;
• installing fittings such as cookers, baths, shower, toilets, taps and valves, refrigerators, boilers, radiators and fires;
• testing completed installation for leaks and makes any necessary adjustments;
• attaching fittings and joins piping by welding, soldering, cementing, fusing, screwing or other methods;
• repairing burst pipes and mechanical and combustion faults and replacing faulty taps, washers, valves, pump etc.
• unblocking drainage
• all other associated plumbing work and repairs
• Maintaining records and produce reports.
• Supporting in the delivery of a safe, clean and healthy working environment.
• Enforcing health standards, safety, and security procedures
• Communicating and interacting with other colleagues
• Maintaining day to day contact with the managing director
• Planning daily workload and ensuring all tasks are completed within the designated time period
QUALIFICATION: NVQ Level 3 in plumbing or equivalent or above
SKILLS:
• Effective organisational skills; able to prioritise tasks and self-manage a workload
• Friendly and approachable
• Have a strong eye for detail
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Be motivated, dedicated, and committed.
• Have excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to problem solve and think clearly under pressure
• Have good time management skills
EXPERIENCE
a) Prospective employee should have at least one year practical experience in the relevant field.
