Summary
Your new company
You will be joining a multi-accredited main contractor based in Derby working on a major water framework. This organisation is currently working on a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in the Midlands region, and they have a strong pipeline of work in the water sector. They offer excellent opportunities for career progression, professional development and work-life balance, and due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, performing measurement checks, submitting valuations and variations on projects, negotiating and appointing subcontractors to projects, managing subcontractor packages from appointment through to final account, liaising with site teams and senior management as well as identifying cost issues.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will ideally hold a degree in quantity surveying (or experience equivalent) and have good working knowledge of NEC contracts. In addition, you will have strong IT skills and have a good level of commercial awareness. Previous experience working on major water frameworks is highly desirable. Finally, you will have strong organisational skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
