Applications are invited for either full or part time Locum Consultant(s) in Orthodontics up to 1.0 WTE based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital as part of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Trust.

The successful applicant(s) will join a highly motivated team within the Head and Neck Directorate, including Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgery consultants, and be responsible for the management and treatment of orthodontic patients with the emphasis on multidisciplinary care to a population of approximately 330,000 in Blackpool Fylde & Wyre and adjacent areas.

In this role you will have the opportunity to treat a varied range of cases with a focus on complex MDT treatments, including orthognathic and hypodontia. You will work in a regional multidisciplinary team with colleagues in Restorative Dentistry and other dental specialties, and will be expected to take an active role in service redesign and delivery as a member of the local Orthodontic MCN and the local Secondary Care Orthodontic Network, demonstrating a passion for improving patient services across the Lancashire and South Cumbria area. There is potential for the post to incorporate sessions at adjacent NHS Trusts as we work towards providing a regional Orthodontic service.

As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents – it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.
