We currently have an opportunity to join our Housing team in the role of Neighbourhood Support Assistant on a part-time, permanent basis (18 hours). Our core hours are Mon - Thu 8.30 am - 5 pm and Fri 8.30 am - 12.30 pm, we can be flexible on the days worked in this role, and would look to discuss this at the interview stage. Neighbourhood Support Assistants work in our Neighbourhood teams across the city of Sunderland and are responsible for supporting the teams to deliver a first-class housing management service to our customers and the wider community. In this role you will provide a great service to our customers, working as part of a team to respond to a wide range of general enquiries, both in person and on the telephone, as well as providing support to the Neighbourhood Coordinators. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and experience within a Housing Management environment. This role will require a basic DBS check, paid for by Gentoo.

Our tenants are at the heart of what we do at Gentoo, therefore, providing excellent customer service is paramount in this role. You will need to be a people person with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of teams, colleagues, and customers within Gentoo to ensure we deliver excellent customer service every time. Your working week: We offer reduced working hours through the summer with 1 pm and 3 pm finishes available. During the winter our Plumbers work up to 4.30 pm Mon – Fri. Occasional Sat morning working is required, when worked the following Friday will become a day off. Training and development opportunities are available to all Plumbers, including products and the potential for training in renewable energy air/ground source heat pumps and qualification renewal. We also can offer opportunities to progress within Gentoo. As a Plumber at Gentoo, you would carry out the following tasks across our housing stock in Sunderland: • Ensure the Group is compliant in Gas and day-to-day Plumbing repairs including Heating installs and Water Safety • Carry out responsive repairs to Gentoo properties including installation and maintenance of sanitary ware, plumbing/heating systems, soil and rainwater goods • Installation of gas boilers, heating systems, associated pipework and components • Testing, commissioning and de-commissioning of all the above components and services • Gentoo operates an Emergency Out of Hours Service, which you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required, with the potential of additional pay up to £ 865 per week. We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Repairs Team within our Property Maintenance Service in the role of Repairs Manager. In this key role you will lead a team of trades colleagues to effectively deliver a varied range of repairs to meet the needs of our tenants. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of a wider Management team in the successful delivery of repairs across our housing stock with a budget in excess on £10M to invest in Responsive Repairs. As a good communicator you will have the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of teams and colleagues within Gentoo, external contractors, stakeholders and our materials supply partner, Jewson and have an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. We are currently recruiting an Asset Compliance Data Officer to join the Asset and Sustainability directorate, based at our Sunderland head office. We offer hybrid working, a blend of onsite and home working based on the requirements of the role. The Asset Compliance Data Officer will play a key role in allowing the Group to deliver on its commitment to keep customers safe by holding robust and accurate data on all its assets. You will work as part of a team to ensure there is a single version of the truth in relation to compliance data. You will do this by acting as a gateway for all amendments to key systems and through the regular validation and triangulation of key datasets held across the Group. This will involve validating all data provided by Affordable Development, Property Maintenance and Delivery teams to ensure that relevant components are created, and certification is held to demonstrate statutory compliance. Work in accordance with and identify breaches in the data management protocols for assets and components with a compliance or servicing responsibility. This will include liaison with Property Maintenance, Affordable Development, Delivery, Health and Safety and other stakeholders on the visibility, management, transfer and integrity of all relevant assets and components. Assist the Asset Compliance Data Manager on the development and refreshment of the core compliance and servicing databases ensuring that the data is accurate, triangulated and validated to provide full visibility of all assets and components with a compliance responsibility across the Group. Support the Asset Compliance Data Manager in the development of new approaches to managing compliance data including updating data management protocols when new datasets or systems are adopted by the Group. Support assurance reviews as required to ensure Gentoo has a robust and resilient approach to the delivery of Landlord Compliance in line with its strategy and approach to risk mitigation.

About the role of Stock Condition and Energy Surveyor

Gentoo is committed to holding robust and up-to-date stock condition and energy data on our homes. This data is the foundation to ensuring our customers live in safe, decent homes for today and tomorrow, and ensures investment at the right time. Our current stock condition and energy team undertake over 6000 stock condition surveys per year in our customers’ homes. Due to a change in strategy for the collection of stock condition and energy data, Gentoo will now undertake EPC surveys of all homes using our internal team. Where appropriate, we will look to combine stock condition and EPC surveys to minimise disruption for customers. Gentoo is also committed to ensuring all homes achieve EPC C by 2030, and that all homes meet the Decent Homes Standard. We have a significant investment programme in our existing homes, and getting this right, is based on the data in our Asset Management system. A key fundamental to making this a reality is having accurate energy performance and stock condition data for our homes. Our aim is to visit our homes and assess their condition as frequently as possible. To achieve this strategy, we are delighted to be investing in and increasing our team of Stock Condition and Energy Surveyors, so are recruiting an additional team member. The key responsibilities of this role will include: Conducting high quality stock condition surveys considering Decent Homes and HHSRS, and highlighting any potential issues via the Group’s monitoring process Undertaking energy performance assessments as required to ensure the Group has current and accurate records of energy performance of its housing stock Completing asset data collection exercises to support the creation of the Group’s investment plan Undertaking validation exercises to aid the improvement of stock condition and energy data in the Group’s Asset Management and Energy databases
