We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant to join our  team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Rutland

Hours

The site currently offers a Mon-Fri 07:30-17:30  

Sat/Sun/bank hols 08:30-17:3

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to 27,195 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

 As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients care.
• This role will support the SMS NMP/team in delivering medication and care to our substance misuse patients. You will primarily be working within the clinical substance misuse team although may be required to carry out duties in the primary care team.
• You will support the registered nurse in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and to be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• We are ideally looking for someone who has experience of working in a Health Care Assistant role or similar and has particular experience in Substance Misuse work.
• Ability to work within a busy environment

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
