Capellas Solihull opened in August 2013 and is a purpose built nursery with an extensive outside play area. Set in a fantastic location we are next to Malvern Park and within safe and easy walking distance to central Solihull.

With stimulating activities we will foster your child’s talents whilst allowing them time to relax and rest during a busy days learning.  We have a dedicated team of staff to care for your little ones and provide your child an excellent nursery experience.

Our own chef provides nutritious and healthy meals and caters for individual’s dietary needs and parental preferences.

We offer childcare from 7.30am-6pm Monday to Friday and provide wrap around care for St Alphege School nursery.

You will be supporting their learning and development through play and activities. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Room Based Deputy Manager to join our leadership team driving outstanding practice across the nursery.

  • We are looking for an experienced practitioner with some Deputy Manager experience who can specialise in the under 3’s age range. You will be working in a supportive environment sharing the load with other members of the management team and an experienced nursery team. You will have weekly allocated time where you are out of the room and ratio’s to fulfil work alongside the Nursery Manager.
  • The post holder will take responsibility for the implementation of the teaching and learning policy in the rooms they are based in. They will work in partnership with a Nursery Manager, and they will be focused on the delivery of our programme of care and education and ensuring smooth running of the nursery. Tackling issues as they arise, ensuring action is appropriate and timely and offering support and advice to the staff team. The post holder will also have responsibility for keeping Health and Safety checks and requirements up to date with the support of the Manager.

We want someone who will be a great day to day role model for our dedicated staff team and you must be open to learning a new model of care informed by our child psychology approach. You will need to be great with parents and children alike. You will need to be calm under pressure, a good communicator and professional in your approach.

Entry requirements

GCSE or equivalent Maths/English (Grade 4) desirable

You will need to hold a Level 3 in early years or equalivalent qualification, knowledge and experience

Training to be Provided

You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare

Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning.

You will gain an Early years qualification with a view to continuing onto further levels of apprenticeships and training.

Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.

Things to consider

This is a busy environment and you will be dancing, singing, playing, reading and generally having fun. You will be tired at the end of your shift but happy in the knowledge you created a fun and safe environment for the children to flourish Driving License or able to get to nursery for 7.20 am (preferred)
