Job Overview

The Meister Electrician has expertise in the electrical sector, particularly in relation to high- and low-voltage electrical systems and power supply, including back-up and backup systems. He/she is also registered with the Chamber of Crafts as a craft operations manager and thus assumes technical responsibility for the corresponding systems within the Mities's area of responsibility. In addition, the holder of the post is considered to be a concessionaire for the field of electrical engineering and has been appointed as the responsible electrician (vEFK).

 

Main Duties, he/she will:

  • Co-ordinate the repair and maintenance tasks with employees and contractors.
  • Plan, perform or adequately delegate regular safety briefings and Tool Box Talks.
  • Performing all administrative tasks required by the business.
  • Task tradesmen and / or subcontractors to ensure contractual and / or legal deadlines are achieved.
  • Comply with Mitie operating guidelines, especially with regard to occupational safety "Zero Harm".
  • Supervise work orders (from own staff and contractors) on quality, adherence to deadlines and requirements, as well as on observance of occupational safety guidelines.
  • Comply with given KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Work in close consultation with other internal and external agencies, e.g. Store, procurement team, etc to ensure smooth operations.
  • Acts in consultation with the Site Manager according to the budget and delegation.
  • Monitoring of the provided equipment and tools (condition, function and Inspection.

What we are looking for

Key Technical Skills / competencies: he/she,

  • Has served a recognised Electrical engineering Domestic & Commercial related apprenticeship and can produce evidence of such relevant German qualification or has attained the equivalent of the UK's City and Guilds or applicable NVQ qualification.
  • Is able to converse in German and English.

Key competencies:

  • Competent in both Domestic & Commercial electrical Installation & repair works.
  • Able to assess the works required, undertake full fault finding and formulate the correct solution.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A time served apprenticeship (to be evidenced) with a minimum of 3 years experience as a fully qualified Electrical Meister.
  • Deal with emergencies, Attendance may be occasionally required outside of normal hours to deal with emerging maintenance situations and/or specialist contractors.
  • Able to work independently as electrician for Industry & private house requirements.
  • Carry out repair and maintenance tasks for Living accommodation.
  • Carry out specific tasks in given timeframe.
  • In time communication with Line Management
  • Identification of required spare parts.
  • E-Check nach DGUV A3, DIN VDE 0105 Teil 100.
  • Carry out Portable electric appliances test nach DIN VDE 0701 - 0702.
  • Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) awareness.
  • Able to Work safely at height & in Confined Spaces.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working in a maintenance environment with high customer service expectations.
  • Experience and Training in High Voltage systems.
  • The ability to multi skill and carry out varied maintenance tasks to a high standard,
  • Qualified to a German or NVQ Level 5 in Heating equivalent or an interest in gaining qualifications of this level.
  • Basic computer knowledge for Portable Digital Appliances.
  • Competent in producing and following work place Risk Assessments and method statements for every task.
  • Input to the Quality, Environment, Health and Safety files.
