Job summary

Residential Services Manager

Full Time Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week

£45318.77 - £50115 per annum depending on experience.

Hybrid - Stockport and home based with travel throughout the allocated region.

Main duties of the job

Essential requirements of a Residential Services Manager

Professional qualification in either health or social care

Full, clean, UK Driving Licence & access to a vehicle for work purposes

Ability and willingness to travel to other sites as required.

An excellent understanding of mental health and CQC registration

Previous people management experience

Experience of improving service performance and maintaining that performance within a rapidly changing environment

Team management skills to lead and inspire a motivated and skilled team that consistently delivers or exceeds on its individual and team goals.

IT literate with experience of working with Microsoft office applications.

Care in Mind provide residential services for young people aged 16-30 years old. The young people we care for often require a high level of support to assist with difficulties they may have from self-harming, behaviour, and emotional difficulties. Our aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic approach to help them achieve their individual goals, in preparation for transition to adult life.

Job responsibilities

We are currently recruiting a Residential Services Manager to support our homes in the north and south hub regions (Northwest and Yorkshire). Your role will be to support our Registered Managers with their services and development. You will oversee the induction process for new managers and provide line management to existing managers ensuring supervisions and appraisals are completed and that staff have ongoing development. You will act as a consistent role model to managers ensuring they are managing pressures in their services and work alongside the Deputy and Head of Residential to deliver outstanding services.

Your key duties will include.

To ensure the team of Residential Managers are supervised in accordance with the companys policies and empower the managers to develop themselves and their services.

To ensure that safeguarding, investigation, and disciplinary procedures are managed fairly and confidentially in conjunction with the Head and Deputy of Residential Services and the People services team.

To complete all duties as required as a safeguarding support to the hub area in which you work as directed by the safeguarding lead.

To oversee the appropriate management of complaints and ensure lessons are learnt from the experiences and changes are made going forward to minimise further complaints.

To provide comprehensive operations, governance reports and action plans, ahead of monthly meetings to the Head of Residential Services. To attend meetings when required to discuss the reports in detail, outlining actions taken and implementation going forwards.

To chair the Residential Managers meetings in the absence of the Deputy Head of Residential services, distributing company practice and procedures, sharing best practice ideas, and creating a vision of direction for improvement.

To oversee CQC inspection visits and support the Residential Managers during this process.

To complete the requirements as a Registered Manager for all new homes within the hub location that you work until a newly appointed manager has completed their probationary period.

To oversee the production of staff rotas, ensuring that all Managers are producing effective rotas according to budget allocation on a weekly basis.

To work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance department for all audits within the residential homes and to ensure action plans are met by the residential managers from any audits carried out.

To work collaboratively with the People Service department and attend weekly HR meetings for homes you are responsible for and create action plans for Registered Managers and review set actions.

To visit services and to complete a property inspection report with the Estates and Technology department. To be responsible for returning properties to a high standard when leases end and ensure all actions allocated to the Registered Manager have been completed prior to service handover.

To attend the referrals meeting on a weekly basis working collaboratively with the Business Development department and clinical services in reviewing occupancy levels, ensuring appropriate matching of young people within the home and according to staffing models. To carry out referral assessments as required.

You will work in a hybrid manner as allocated by your manager over a 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
