Job responsibilities

We are looking for an outstanding Chefwhos passionate about food and wants to make a difference.

Youll be working 40hours a week (7 days a week, including 1 in 2 weekends, 8am to 6pm 4 days a week) at Newham House, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.

This isour 20-bed neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility providing rehabilitation for women affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI).

The hospital provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery alongside offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntingtons Disease, a placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

The hospital is a modern, purpose-built facility, designed specifically to provide a clinically-led evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge as a result of their ABI.

Your day-to-day...

  • Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
  • Provide special diets, taking into account individual preferences & needs
  • Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients nutritional & dietary needs
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
