Job summary

Cancer Nursing is an exciting and expanding speciality within Hywel Dda University Health Board and an opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurse to work in the specialised and rewarding area of the Cancer Day Unit, Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the nursing team at this busy and ever changing challenging environment where Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment is administered to both Oncology and Haematology patients.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to working by providing safe, individualised and effective standards of care. Full training will be provided for the successful Registered Nurse, in delivering Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy (SACT). The role will provide an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in Cannulation, Central Lines management and safe administration of SACT.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
