Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Manager to join the Paediatric Neurosciences department.

This role will be fixed term for 12 months at 15 hours per week. We're looking for someone with experience in setting up and implementing databases, with the ability to interpret data and system manage the database for Paediatric Neurosciences.

Main duties of the job

  • Be responsible in setting up a database for Paediatric Neurosciences and support the retrospective data entry into said database.
  • System manage the database for Paediatric Neurosciences.
  • Provide accurate and timely data from the data base to Divisional Governance groups as required.
  • Be responsible for promoting the use of databases within Paediatric Neurosciences and in liaison with the lead/designated Consultant ensure that these systems are developed and improved wherever appropriate.
  • Liaise with external software agencies to troubleshoot, improve and develop the systems they provide.
  • Provide responsive general IT user support, advice and training for the use of the Paediatric Neurosciences databases to ensure best practice.
  • Ensure the accurate validation of Paediatric Neurosciences data.
  • Co-ordinate the production of the reports when requested.
  • Provide regular monthly reports of activity when required for Neurosciences business meetings and Clinical Governance.
  • Utilise a range of relevant data sources available through the Trust's information systems, including the central data warehouse.
  • Facilitate the provision of timely and accurate Paediatric Neurosciences information for clinical audit projects. This data is often complex and sensitive, as it can relate to morbidity and mortality of children. Such information can be used for a high profile service review cases
