Are you looking for a challenge?  Looking to make a difference to other people’s lives by helping to provide support to the community programme of the Salvation Army Shipley Corps.

We are looking to recruit a Community Assistant to work with the Corps Officer and volunteers to run and grow our community uniform bank. You will have experience of working with people and a keen interest to support our community and build relationships with the people who attend our programmes with colleagues and volunteers.

You should have both a professional and caring manner when interacting with programme participants to create a welcoming and supportive environment.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage your own workload to meet objectives
  • Good communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and programme participants
  • A good level of English – both spoken and written - and numeracy at GCSE level or equivalent
  • Experience of working with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and email programmes
  • Awareness of safeguarding people
