Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative and forward thinking individual to join our Practice Education and Development team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. Education is a key priority to the Trust and the aim of the Practice Placement Faciitator is to enhance the quality of learning for students and support practice-based assessors in their role.

Main duties of the job

To work collaboratively with the existing team and wider workforce to ensure that students have the best possible learning environment and experience.

Enhance practice learning environments by expanding clinical practices identifying new areas in which students can meet their objectives and to improve the exerience of the students.

To promote a culture of positive learning environments where staff development is encouraged and supported and clearly promotes and support the CDDFT behaviours and values.

To support and develop an effective competent workforce to deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care.

To manage the processes to ensure that students have adequate support, supervision and assessment across the Trust is in alignment with the relevant standards.

To manage any concerns raised

Attend local schools and colleges to promote the health care profession.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

  • Evidence on ongoing CPD

  • Post graduate certificate in clinical education

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in the development of strategies, processes and procedures to support pre and post registrants.
  • Demonstrate experience in assessing learners within the organisation
  • Demonstrable experience either within clinical education or the clinical environment.
