Job summary

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and highly motivated 2 Consultant Neuroradiologists (diagnostic) to join our subspecialty group of 13 Neuroradiologists who are part of a bigger team of more than 90 Consultant Radiologists in post across UHB.

This post is primarily based at the QEHB site.

Completion of subspeciality training in neuroradiology is an essential criterion for this post. The successful applicants will be expected to join our team of enthusiastic Consultants to contribute to the increasing workload of the department which has been driven upwards by a combination of service expansion, stroke, cancer pathway driven targets and multidisciplinary meeting attendance. This post offers the opportunity to work closely with Neurology and Neurosurgical Consultant colleagues in providing a cross specialty comprehensive diagnostic service to in and out patients and also direct access primary care referrals. You will be expected to contribute to the cross-site acute neuroradiology services requirements.

Main duties of the job

The nature of the service requires flexibility to meet these evolving needs including contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and urgent outpatient, and second opinion requests. Acute weekend services include both emergency and standard in patient work.

The post holder is expected to support the training of SpRs and Fellows.

The role will include the provision of a seven day diagnostic on call cover.
