The NIV Critical Care & Regional Weaning Centre at the Royal Stoke University Hospital is a 28 bedded Nurse Led respiratory high dependency unit, comprising of 20 level 2 beds specializing in Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) and Tracheostomy weaning and 8 acute Respiratory beds.
We pride ourselves on providing support on all aspects of NIV and Tracheostomy care to our patients and their carers to enable safe, but independent living.
We provide an invaluable In Reach service trust wide for patients requiring assessment and initiation of NIV, or supportive care and advice, enabling timely and correct intervention when the patient needs it.
Our acute service takes referrals trust wide from the emergency portals, critical care unit, both local and out of area, deteriorating ward based patients and patients direct from home.
We have recently expanded our service to meet capacity demand for critical care beds and we are looking for enthusiastic, pro-active individuals with a passion for critical care respiratory nursing/ NIV to join our culturally diverse team.

Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated individuals to become Band 6 Senior Clinical Nurses on the NIV Critical Care Unit.
The successful applicant will need to possess a passion for acute respiratory nursing, at least 2 years Non Invasive Ventilation experience and Tracheostomy experience; excellent organisational and communication skills and to have the ability to meet the challenges of both clinical and managerial responsibility within a busy critical care unit.
