Job summary

We are looking for friendly, hard-working, reliable candidates who are a team player, organised, have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work under their own initiative and must be flexible too.

This must be done whilst maintain the Trust Values - Compassion, Pride, Integrity, Valuing Everybody, Innovation and Collaboration.

The unit is operational 7 days a week, therefore weekend and bank holiday cover will be required.

Hours worked will be rostered on a 4-weekly basis.

All aspects of general housekeeping duties will be required within the environment to achieve standards in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness for Healthcare, this will also be in accordance with COSHH, Health and Safety and Infection Control measures. You will receive an induction programme and induction training, regular supervision.

Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness in at all times, in line with NHS National Standards of Cleanliness and Infection Control policy:Use of all cleaning equipment and materials appropriately and effectively to provide a clean and safe environmentCleaning of all areas within the unit both on the wards and the off ward areas as defined in the cleaning schedulesDaily inspection of electrical cleaning equipment prior to use and the reporting of any faults as appropriateDisposal of all waste in accordance with trust policiesDamp dusting of all fixtures and fitting/internal glassEnsure all soft furnishings, curtains and soft flooring are cleaned and maintained as requiredChanging curtains when required and re-hang as necessaryAny other duties as related to housekeeping within the unit.Prepare and regenerate meals for patients. Maintain all food safety records in line with Food Safety Manual, Catering Policy, and all food safety legislation.Ensure patient area is readied for meal service, and clear related crockery/cutlery etc after meal service, ensuring these are washed appropriately.Maintain stocks of cleaning materials on wards and admin areas.Report any issues/damage to the environment/furniture etc to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Ward Manager.Ensure all stocks of linen are maintained and laundered in line with appropriate policies.Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, appropriate Codes of Conduct, the Mental Health Act (1983) and other relevant national and local guidance
