At our Richmond telemedicine hub, we are looking for a Telemedical Lead Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about women's health and dedicated to providing exceptional care to our clients. As a Lead Nurse or Midwife you will provide abortion and sexual health information, pre-treatment assessment and treatment to clients in a supportive manner.
The post holder will lead, manage and mentor a remote clinical team of nurses and midwives involved in the provision of the telemedical termination service. You will also deputise in the absence of the Treatment Unit Manager.
This role is working 18 hours per week over 3 days. Once trained, this will be a hybrid role with a mixture between home and the hub. More details surrounding the working pattern will be discussed at interview.
Main duties of the job
- To deliver high standards
of telemedical care in accordance with NMC Guidelines for Professional
Practice, and to promote the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
- Ensure that the client understands her options in relation to the pregnancy &, if choosing termination, meets the ground of the Abortion Act.
To co-ordinate
clinicians to meet the needs of the service and contribute to
the identification of efficient staffing levels and manage human resources
effectively.
To assist the Unit
Manager in setting budgets for the Unit and in ensuring that CQC standards are
maintained.
To audit client
pathways and practitioners to ensure compliance with BPAS policies, and
implement/review action plans where required.
About You
You will be a Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife (practising) who has experience of working within a clinical environment, where you have supervised or managed other clinical staff. You will have experience of working to guidelines, policies and procedures, and also have experience of completing client documentation.
We are also looking for:
- A friendly, professional, supportive and non-judgmental person with a commitment to a client-led service
- Gynaecological nursing experience or relevant specialty
i.e. sexual health, contraception

Salary: £45,971 - £53,402 per annum pro rata - depending on skills and experience. This is inclusive of the OLW. Saturday shifts are paid at time and a half.
Contract: 6 month fixed term contract
Working Pattern: 18 hours per week. 3 x 6 hour shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday with the occasional Saturday. Hours will be between the below opening times:
Monday & Tuesday 08:00 to 18:00 | Wednesdays 08:00 to 20:00
Location: BPAS Richmond hub - Rosslyn Clinic, 15 Rosslyn Rd, East Twickenham, Twickenham TW1 2AR. Once trained, there is a mix between hub and home working.
