Sub Agent – Tier 1 Contractor – Major Civils Framework – Southwest England & South Wales

 

Role overview:

 

My client is a Tier 1 Construction and Civil Engineering Company.

 

They have been chosen as the sole provider of Lot 3 - Western Geotechnical Off-Track and Drainage - as part of Network Rail Wales and Western region’s £2bn programme of works.

The Lot stretches from London Paddington to Penzance and involves the ongoing maintenance & renewals programme of civil engineering assets such as embankments, cuttings, scour protection, and earthworks drainage. 

They are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Sub Agent to add to their existing team on the framework.

 

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering civil engineering projects and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects.

 

Sub Agent duties include assisting the Site Agent with the successful and timely delivery of the projects:

 

  • Advising the engineering team with solutions to technical challenges
  • Assist in production and integration of 3-week programmes
  • Manage designs from the inhouse and external designers
  • Support the project team with construction methodology and sequencing
  • Collaborate with the project team on resource, plant and material requirements
  • Training and mentoring the junior members of the engineering team
  • Demonstrate value engineering throughout the construction process
  • Managing RFI’s and Technical Queries

 

Person Specification

  • Previous experience as a Section Engineer or Sub Agent delivering major infrastructure projects
  • Formal qualification in a civil engineering or construction related subject
