Plant Preparation Labourer

Hours: 39.5 hrs basic      Monday – Thursday    0630-1545 / Friday   0630-1230

Salary: £12.54 / hr entry level rising with experience.

Location: Bury

Our large Manufacturing client based in Bury is looking for a Plant Preparation Labourer to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.

As a Plant Preparation Labourer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly.

Duties:

  • Working on 24x9 storage container shells, adapting to daily workloads with precision.
  • You will be required to undertake the role of abrasive blasting to meet the requirements of the department.
  • Full training will be given to those who do not have the required skills.
  • Your keen eye for detail and knowledge of maintaining a clean work environment will be invaluable.
  • Pre-paint preparation following the sandblasting process is a key responsibility, involving tasks such as scraping out old sealant, panel wiping, using an abrasive sander, and sealing joints before painting.
  • To interpret production schedules and working examples, to achieve the finish required for our products, in line with safety, quality and delivery standards,
  • To maintain a safe working environment, highlighting any concerns and assisting to better our environment,
  • To maintain and use handheld sanding tools and machinery to be recognised best practice.
  • Operate and maintain Industrial Sand Blasting Equipment when required.
  • The ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major or minor changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, or requirements.
  • A preference for taking action without being prompted by others to achieve results,
  • Working cooperatively with others involved in a common goal, being part of a team and working together.
  • Maintaining a professional approach to your job role.
  • Carry out & focus on 5s principles to continually improve organisation, cleanliness & standardisation of the workplace.
