Following significant investment, our newly refurbished Gouldings Resource Centre in Freshwater is looking for permanent Support Workers.

We would like to recruit 2 part-time Support Workers each contracted at 14 hours per week; however, for the right candidate if you are looking for more hours, we will consider recruiting 1 Support Worker at 28 hours per week.

A scenic 20-minute journey from Newport and directly on a main bus route, we are looking to recruit team members to join us to deliver outstanding reablement support alongside crisis and respite care to the 23 people who use our services.

You will work directly with the people staying at the home to identify and achieve their own goals and help them on their journey to independence.

The role is a rewarding, dynamic and versatile. You will be working with individuals and other colleagues ensuring the service we offer is effective to meet people’s needs in a ‘do with’ way rather than a ‘do for’.

We will provide you with unrivalled support through supervision and a fantastic learning and development offer.

If you have a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, that’s great but if not, we will help you achieve it. A good knowledge of literacy and numeracy is also essential but again, we can help you there if you need it.

PLEASE NOTE: The Isle of Wight Council does not offer sponsorship.
