Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and dedicated individual to join the Cancer, Specialist & Clinical Support Services Care Group as Senior Operational Manager. We are a supportive, ambitious and forward-thinking Care Group who is looking for an individual who is passionate about improving services, has substantial proven operational experience and has a track record in service improvement and development.

The role will cover the portfolio of Rheumatology, Dermatology, Psychological Medicine, Medical Elective Services, Outpatients, OPAT, Phlebotomy, Mortuary, Bereavement and Sterile Services. The role will therefore be varied and provide opportunities for the post holder to be involved across a range of specialties.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage a team of Operational Service Managers and will support the operational teams to deliver against key targets. The role has responsibility for maintaining operational oversight of a portfolio of specialties and delivering a number of key transformation projects.

The post holder will work closely with the General Manager, Associate Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Leads, Associate Chief Nurse, Head of Nursing and Matrons to ensure our services are operating effectively for our patients.

We are looking for a leader who has the ability to influence at all levels within the organisation and beyond, is able to provide direction and motivation to the team and has a strong background in operational management. We are looking for applicants who share our commitment to delivering the best possible care to our patients.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in the hospital management on-call rota.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Post graduate qualification / or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development
