Job summary
The Reproductive Health, Childbirth & Paediatrics department has a very active research portfolio of multi-centre national and international phase II to IV clinical trials.
The research is sponsored by either commercial pharmaceutical companies or academia and is dominated by trials adopted on to the NIHR clinical trials portfolio.
The post holder will maintain a day to day oversight of the set-up of new clinical trials in Reproductive Health, Childbirth & Paediatrics
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities will be to liaise with relevant clinical trial sponsor representatives, R & D department and NIHR, to ensure smooth set up of clinical trials, to liaise with internal service support departments in relation to research, to support the research activities of the Principal Investigators (PI), liaise with the Lead Research Nurse (LRN) and Research Nurses & Practitioners to ensure the trial portfolio is delivered in practice in relation to time and targets, be responsible for operational and financial management of the department and to maintain databases of trial activity including EDGE (Local Portfolio Management System).
