Job summary

Would you like to join an innovative organisation committed to the best possible care delivered by the best people? Beech Ward is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic forensic Charge Nurse to join its team in Radlett, Hertfordshire.

Beech Ward is a 15-bed low-secure service for men with mental illnesses and a history of offending behaviour who are at significant risk of causing harm to others. It offers specialist psychological, psychiatric and behavioural therapies and complex specialist rehabilitation to help patients prepare for their return to life in society.

This role is the perfect opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse with at least two years' experience at Band 5. It would be ideal for someone seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and rewarding environment where no two days are the same.

Main duties of the job

As our new Charge Nurse, you would be welcomed into a safe and supportive multidisciplinary staff team that would empower and encourage you to be the best version of yourself for the benefit of those we care for.

Under the direction of the Team Leader, you would be expected to provide comprehensive, professional, and effective leadership, as well as clinical advice and expertise, and managerial support. Working hours would involve shifts, including some nights, weekends and bank holidays.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to manage competing demands and organise their own work effectively to ensure the smooth running of the service. They must be non-judgemental, sensitive, and calm, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also need a good understanding of relational security and be prepared to model and promote the Trust's values at all times.
