Main duties of the job
The South London & Maudsley NHS Trust provides a full range of
mental health services to people of Southwark, Lewisham, Lambeth, and Croydon
as well as substance misuse services for people in Bexley, Greenwich, and
Bromley. The Trust provides specialist services to people from across the UK.
It has approximately 4,800 staff and a budget of £300 million. The trust
also works closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and
Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health

Job responsibilities
To
provide a specialist psychology service to children, young people and families of
the Lambeth CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of
outcomes.
To
provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate. To contribute to service evaluation, audit and research.
To
be responsible for a caseload of
children and families with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or
neurodevelopmental disorder (including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD), and additional mental health
needs and/or challenging behaviour.
To
contribute to the multidisciplinary assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders
and additional mental health needs based on a
good theoretical knowledge of psychological theories, up to date knowledge of
literature and evidence
based practice to make formulations about clinical presentation and risk.
To
undertake standardised cognitive assessments, producing psychometric reports,
as and when required, to contribute to the formulation of a child or young person's
difficulties from a neuropsychological perspective. You will take
responsibility for the management of restricted test materials. You will
interpret the findings of neuropsychological assessments and provide culturally
appropriate reports of the findings and the implications of these.
To
manage your own caseload and provide evidence-based assessments and interventions to manage complex cases.

Essential
- Knowledge of psychological assessment and clinical psychometrics.
