About Nature’s Little Learners

At Nature’s Little Learners, we are a close-knit team that goes above and beyond to create a family feel in our Curiosity-inspired nursery. We focus on meeting children’s individual needs through in-the-moment planning and child-led play.

In our awe-inspiring nursery, we help children expand and become confident individuals in a safe and secure environment. Everything we do is centred around our amazing children and it is our mission to provide the highest-quality childcare experience.

Our team is highly qualified in all aspects of childcare including NVQ Level 3 in Childcare up to Degree level. Early Years Apprentice

As an Early Years Apprentice, you'll collaborate with nursery staff to ensure daily operations align with policies, the Children Act, Health and Safety regulations, and Ofsted guidelines. Your role involves fostering children's development, independence, and problem-solving skills, promoting inclusivity. 

Our growing team is looking for someone fun, energetic, knowledgeable and inspiring - a smile on your face from the moment you walk through the door! You'll receive on-the-job learning opportunities, mentored by qualified practitioners, to support your qualification journey.

Main Duties include:

  • Working cooperatively with your room leader/mentor, following instructions with ease, and dedicating time and effort to learning.

  • Observing children, ensuring they are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.

  • Appropriately planning individual learning experiences for children under the EYFS Curriculum.

  • To understand and work following the nursery's policies and procedures, including knowing how to deal with child protection issues

    appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.

  • To complete assignments/tasks set by your assessor on time, as well as attend all training sessions required for you to gain the relevant childcare qualification.

  • To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.

  • To ensure records are properly maintained using our Online Software, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments, incident forms, daily logs, etc.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Maths and English GCSE A-C/4 or equivalent (if not already achieved, the ability to work towards achieving functional skills level 1).

  • Be DBS-checked and pass ongoing suitability requirements.

  • An enthusiastic approach to learning.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Early Years Level 2 Practitioner

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated and consistent team player to join Nature’s Little Learners as a Level 2 Practitioner.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of activities for all children- both indoors and outdoors - whilst maintaining a positive and welcoming environment.

They will work to high-quality standards, maintaining a high level of communication with children, parents, carers, colleagues and other professionals.

Main Duties include:

  • Developing respectful and warm relationships with the children by taking part in activities and engaging with them at their level.

  • To oversee planning and provision, ensuring that you are providing a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring a curiosity approach is taken.

  • To ensure high standards of and observe all children’s health, well-being and basic care and encourage personal hygiene with the children.

  • To ensure that you have an excellent understanding of all aspects of Health and safety and the risk assessments that are followed in line with local authority and company procedures.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and current parents and carers, working in partnership with them through consistent communication, parent meetings and responding to any enquiries/concerns in an appropriate manner.

  • To work flexibly as part of the larger team and contribute to the effectiveness of teamwork by assisting and supporting colleagues wherever required, sharing knowledge and skills, and providing a stimulating and purposeful environment that is rich in learning opportunities.

  • To lead by example; embracing, understanding and promoting Nature’s Little Learners and the role you play as part of the team, which provides high levels of care and education.

  • To work in partnership to ensure standards are continually being met in line with Ofsted requirements and the EYFS.

  • Monitor the condition of toys and equipment, ensuring that broken toys or equipment are repaired or disposed of and that necessary maintenance action is taken.

  • Maintain staff ratios per statutory regulations, as well as maintain the register, diary, accident book and other records as necessary during your duties.

Qualifications:

  • Full and Relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent childcare qualification, with at least one year post-qualification experience of leading an Early Years room, implementing the Curiosity Approach through in-the-moment planning.

  • DBS checked with the ability to pass ongoing suitability requirements.

  • Minimum Level 2 Award in Safeguarding & Protecting Children and Young People.

  • Health and Safety Level 2 certificate.

  • Certificate in Food Hygiene.

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate.

  • Completed e-Safety online training.

Early Years Level 3 Practitioner

The role of a Level 3 Practitioner is to oversee daily operations, care for children, maintain a stimulating learning environment, supervise staff, and share knowledge. As creative and reflective leaders, they implement innovative ideas and employ various strategies to enhance practices, contributing to continuous improvement and supporting the management team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children within their care.

They will undertake key worker responsibilities, planning a balanced range of daily activities which meet the well-being and developmental needs of each child, including language development, and social, emotional, intellectual and recreational development.

Room Leader

The room leader is a qualified childcare professional with the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the room. They perform an important role in caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, creative and reflective leader who is able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the management team.

Main Duties include:

  • To ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed in line with local authority and company procedures.

  • Undertake key worker responsibilities, planning a balanced range of daily activities which meet the well-being and developmental needs of each child, including language development, and social, emotional, intellectual and recreational development.

  • Ensure high standards of all children’s well-being and basic care, encouraging personal hygiene with the children, and observing their general health and welfare.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and current parents and carers.

  • To assist in the development and support of other staff members by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and experience, delegating tasks appropriately, identifying training needs and leading meetings and inductions with support from the nursery manager.

  • To ensure that you have an excellent understanding and a working knowledge of all aspects of Health and safety and the risk assessments that are in place.

  • To work in partnership to ensure standards are continually being met in line with Ofsted requirements and the EYFS.

  • To maintain staff ratios per statutory regulations, as well as maintain the register, diary, accident book and other records as necessary during your duties.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 or above in Early Years/Childcare, with at least one year post-qualification experience of leading an Early Years room, implementing the Curiosity Approach through in-the-moment planning

  • DBS checked with the ability to pass ongoing suitability requirements.

  • Minimum Level 2 Award in Safeguarding & Protecting Children and Young People.

Nursery Manager

The Nursery Manager is a highly qualified and experienced childcare professional responsible for the overall leadership and management of the nursery. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, managing staff, and fostering positive relationships with parents and families.

The ideal candidate will be an organised and adaptable leader, capable of implementing innovative ideas and strategies to enhance the nursery's practices and uphold its commitment to high-quality childcare.

Main Duties include:

  • Provide effective leadership for the nursery, ensuring a positive and collaborative team culture

  • .Oversee the day-to-day operations, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with the management team to implement and enhance the nursery's vision and values.

  • Ensure the implementation of high-quality childcare practices in line with regulatory requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports the holistic development of each child.

  • Implement innovative educational approaches and continually seek ways to enhance the learning experience.

  • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and inductions to ensure a well-informed and motivated team.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication and involvement in nursery activities.

  • Collaborate with external agencies, professionals, and community resources to enhance the nursery's offerings and support services.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, local authority regulations, and company policies.

  • Work collaboratively with the management team to uphold Ofsted requirements and EYFS standards.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Early Years/Childcare or relevant field, with at least 5 years post-qualification experience

  • DBS checked with the ability to pass ongoing suitability requirements.

  • Minimum Level 2 Award in Safeguarding & Protecting Children and Young People.

  • Health and Safety Level 2 certificate.

  • Certificate in Food Hygiene.

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate.
