Job summary

The NHS Humber Health Partnership (Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) require a highly motivated operational Senior Estates Manager who will be based in the Estates department at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital. The post holder is required to play a proactive part within the Estates Operations team to meet Trusts objectives in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner and compliant with legislation and good practice.

As the Senior Estates Manager you will report directly to the Deputy Director/Associate Director of Engineering & Estates and provide strong, effective leadership for Estates staff in Estates Operational Management, Additional Works, Capital Backlog and Maintenance Services, supported by performance management arrangements and encourage team working, by providing the varied skills that support the department's philosophy and flexible working. The post holder will receive training in elements some bespoke healthcare required operational engineering skills and acquire skills to support this flexibility in a safe and professional manner. The post holder will be expected to work across the Trust.

The role requires a strong character with operational management experience, one that likes to challenge, one that likes to work with a team to develop solutions to both simple and complex problems in order to keep the staff and patient environment functioning.

Main duties of the job

The post holder's primary responsibilities will be to operationally lead effective estates maintenance at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital site. The holder will manage a team of 30 plus staff to deliver maximum essential infrastructure effect ensuring all NHS services are maintained.

The post holder will be a member of a small group of managerial/technical staff who manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust standards, procedures and legislation.

The post holder will be appointed to Named/Designated/Competent/ Authorised person's roles in keeping with requirements laid down in Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation and commensurate with the role.

The post holder will be required to participate in the Estates & Facilities Directorate emergency on-call rota.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively lead, motivate and be committed to the development of the department regarding training and Staff development.

Essential

  • Degree in Engineering or Building, Building Services or Facilities Management or an equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience working at a senior level in a related specialist area.
  • Post graduate/master degree level qualifications or/and equivalent experience or willing to complete
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of planning, managing and successfully
  • P405 or willing to complete trg

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent
