Job summary
We are thrilled to be advertising for a Lead Nurse - collaborative cancer nurse specialist teams. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career in leadership, quality and support cancer nursing and our nurse specialist teams. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated senior leader to join our team. This is a secondment post initially and will be reviewed.
This post has become available with great opportunities for the right person, who has a passion and are keen to further develop the cancer nurse specialist teams, and cancer care in this specialist area. To support and provide a comprehensive service for patients within the specialist area of cancer care, and to lead the teams in a united, collaborative approach linking with and networking with wider colleagues.
Main duties of the job
Clinical aspects of the role. to provide direct patient care and holistic support in helping improve quality of life by educating the patient on the management and control of symptoms and offering support following diagnosis and following the patient pathway.
To be a resource for other health professionals.
To work with the specialist nurses accommodating flexibility to provide full-service cover, to always deliver appropriate care/support to both patients and clinicians across the service, within the directorate, with effective and inclusive leadership. Focus on quality, performance, impact and value.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate service, being a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate South Tees NHS FT values of Caring, Respectful, Supportive, and Empowerment of our teams.
About us
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:
- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
- Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
- Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
