Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a radiographer to join the Interventional/Fluoroscopy Radiology and MR department at Salford Care Organisation. This is a rotational position with the candidate working within a four week cycle.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient focused, progressive Radiographer, to join our Interventional and MR Radiology team. Candidates must be good team players and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
The post holder would spend time learning new skills within Interventional Radiology, Fluoroscopy and MR. There would be opportunities to learn new skills and advanced techniques to help benefit the patients of Greater Manchester. The successful post holder would partake in our Thrombectomy and Trauma services.
This opportunity is available for those wishing to develop their skills and depending on experience we would accept a band 5 to band 6 progression.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to work as part of an effective team to provide the best patient care.
The successful candidate should be able to Ensure the highest standards of patient care within own area of work.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient care within own area of work.
- To become an expert in highly complex imaging procedures that utilise the IR and MR department, and ensure all images obtained are of the highest quality.
- Ensure radiation protection for all staff, patients and visitors and to advise where necessary, this includes quality assurance of the Radiology machines.
- Ensure MR safety guidelines are adhered to
- Assist and support the lead radiographer in safe and effective management of the area.
- Assist in continually striving to improve the service provided and contribute towards service improvements.
- Assist with management and leadership of the area and staff working within it.
- Act as a role model and mentor for junior members of staff passing through the area.
- Work within a large multidisciplinary team to liaise with specialist nursing staff, Radiologists, Neurosurgeons, and anaesthetists as required.
Due to the departments having such busy services the successful radiographer would be expected to take a vital role in our on call system. All radiographers are expected to support 24/7 working 365 days per year in line with Trust Policy.
