Job summary

The post is to work within the Oldham Community IV Service based within the Butler Green Enhanced Intermediate Care setting.

The multi-disciplinary service provides a vital service of IV therapy within both a clinic and community. Enabling patients to be treated within the primary care setting and work closely with other disciplines and service users to reduce hospital admissions.

As a member of the team you would be responsible for your own caseload of patients under the supervision of the Lead Nurse. There will be a period of induction to the service where you will work closely with a nominated mentor.

The demand for the service means that we are continually developing and there will be opportunities to expand your skills and there is scope for personal development.

This role will also enable you to work within the wider Intermediate Care Facilities including Enhanced Intermediate care and Community Crisis Team.

Main duties of the job

  • To administer IV therapy within community setting .
  • To communicate effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users.
  • To manage an allocated caseload of patients administering IV therapy, reviewing daily and ensuring patient safety.
  • To participate in weekly MDT meetings in or der to review and monitor patient progress .
  • To complete electronic documentation in accordance with professional and local guidelines.
