Job summary

We are looking for a new team member to work with our experienced team to assist our patients with receiving the right care for them. It is essential that you are a good listener and a caring individual who is motivated to give an excellent customer service to all patients. We are looking for an individual who sees a career in general practice and is passionate about patient care.

Main duties of the job

The role will include answering the telephones, working the front reception desk, liaising with reception, admin and clinical teams to provide a service to our patients. There will also be training in other aspects of the role once the individual is ready to take on further tasks and responsibilities.

We are a large practice with 14500 patients, its a very busy environment with years of experience. We strive to provide the best possible care for all patients and achieve this by working as a team.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone Job responsibilities: Administration • To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures. • To work in accordance of written protocol • Fax and photocopy as requested Reception • Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address. • Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary Appointments • Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person. • Deal with visits requests Computer • Registrations of new patients – computer data entry and medical records. • Process patients change of address – computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area. • Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines. Telephone • Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours.
