Medical Receptionist
Longview
Medical Centre is looking to recruit an experienced Part Time Receptionist to join our friendly supportive team. The post is for 30 Hours per
week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm.
Experience
of working in general practice is essential. Applicants should be computer literate. You will need to work
unsupervised so the ability to use your own initiative and prioritise your work
is essential.
You
must be flexible to cover holidays and staff sickness as and when required.
The
post is a permanent position, subject to satisfactory references, required
employment checks appropriate to the post and a successful 12 month
probationary period.

Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient helpful Reception service to the Practice and
ensure that Practice data is collected, stored, maintained and retrieved
effectively whilst continually providing patient confidentiality.
Answering general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and
follow-up appointments and generally advising patients on non clinical matters
Use computerised appointment system as per training
Sorting and distributing incoming mail. Record requests for home visits
Receiving samples, logging and ensuring the correct forms accompany them to
the laboratory
Receiving and recording telephone messages for the Doctor/Nurse.
Taking requests for repeat prescriptions and preparing them on the computer. Dealing appropriately with outgoing mail.
Ensuring that the reception area is left tidy and ready for use by incoming
colleagues together with any information about unresolved or urgent matters

A two Doctor partnership, with a Practice Nurse, ANP, Practice Manager and an administration team of Care Navigators. We are a small friendly supportive team.
The post is a permanent position and salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
