Main duties of the job

Salary range: £49,083 - £52,116 p.a. inc. London weighting,Golden hello payment of £5,000, Annual retention payment of £3,000 per annum.

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

Job responsibilities

The Post

The post holder will work in partnership with commissioners and contracted providers as well as front line staff. You will aim to change and challenge the ordering behaviour of prescribers, and to improve the knowledge and understanding of prescribers and partners in the effective use of community equipment. As well as being knowledgeable about community equipment, you will need to be comfortable working with data and IT systems. Demonstrating systems and equipment will fall within the remit of the job. A creative problem solver would be ideal in this role.You will contribute to multi-agency forums and develop and nurture relationships within the Local Authority and across partnership agencies. You will have a commitment to staff wellbeing and reflective practice.

This role attracts the following payments (subject to review):

  • Golden hello payment of £5,000*
  • Annual retention payment of £3,000 per annum. **

The Person

We are looking for a qualified occupational therapist with significant post qualifying experience (3 years +) who are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will have excellent communication and managerial skills and experience of working within a social care. You will need to be passionate about working with vulnerable adults and providing an excellent service.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic and analytical in their approach and demonstrate the ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively to promote safe, positive and timely decisions for the residents of Brent. You will be able to contribute to developing practice within the team and provide mentoring to colleagues in the wider Adult Social Care teams.

A good understanding of the relevant Adult Social Care and Housing legislation is essential to these posts. You will need to be able to work autonomously within agreed timeframes and manage frequently changing circumstances.
