About us Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire operates from Battle Barns in Crowmarsh, Wallingford, and supports people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease. Our team of Sue Ryder Clinical Nurse Specialists, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, family support and befrienders combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with emotional, practical and spiritual support. We provide a Hospice at Home service, Clinical nurse specialist home assessments and rapid response, Day Hospice, and Care Coordination and Advice Line. About the Role We are currently looking to recruit an inspirational and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to work in our team of Hospice at Home team Leaders to support and develop the Hospice at Home services. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is passionate about and dedicated to, providing high quality palliative and end of life care to patients and their families enabling palliative patients to remain at home.
Main duties of the job
About you Applicants should ideally have experience of working in the community with palliative care patients, as well as experience of managing and leading a team. The role is working 7 days working 8am to 8pm supporting the provision of care to patients in the community and support the management and scheduling of Health care assistants home visits. Support for symptom management is provided by the Clinical nurse specialist team and medical team. What you need to join our team: Registered Nurse, preferably with experience in palliative care and community nursing (other areas will be considered) Clinical leadership and people management skills Have excellent communication and great interpersonal skills Able to effectively manage change Leading clinical practice development for client group Negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills An ability to provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
