Job summary

We have a really exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our expert team working at practising level or advanced specialist level. This position is within our highly skilled and knowledgeable Occupational Therapy team within our CQC registered Health dept. OT is an integral part of the clinical Health Team at Seashell, working closely with our Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Audiology and Nursing teams as well as with Assistive Technologists, Education and Care services. We have ambitious plans to develop early assessment and intervention services for children and young people with complex needs. We are looking to further enhance our workforce to enable us to continue to grow our innovative Occupational Therapy service. Seashells strategic plan places strong emphasis on the development of innovative therapy support and early assessment and intervention services.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will deliver occupational therapy to a caseload of children and young people with a range of complex needs. This is a very rewarding post allowing autonomy in developing person focussed, meaningful intervention in line with other specialists within the multi-disciplinary team. You will be involved in skill development throughout the child or young persons journey at Seashell, allowing time to build a therapeutic relationship with them and all those involved in their care.The role will involve working with individuals to develop independence and life skills, the assessment and support of individuals with sensory processing needs and providing holistic intervention supporting engagement in activities of daily living. There is huge potential within this post for creativity and professional development. The post holder will support service development and new initiatives alongside clinical governance agendas for the OT service under the guidance of the OT Lead. The successful applicant will also demonstrate leadership and management skills to be able to support Occupational Therapists across the team to further develop their clinical skills.
