Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: SE27, West Norwood Position Type: Long-term (1 year) Start Date: ASAP Salary: £100 per day
A vibrant and inclusive Primary School in West Norwood is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will work closely with a SEND student on a one-to-one basis.
Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one support and assistance to a SEND student within the classroom setting. - Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. - Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the student's individual needs are met. - Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. - Support the student in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials as necessary. - Monitor and track the progress of the student, providing feedback to the relevant stakeholders. - Promote independence and self-esteem in the student through encouragement and positive reinforcement.
Requirements: - Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential. - A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting students with diverse needs. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. - Knowledge of relevant SEND strategies and interventions. - Relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with SEND would be advantageous. - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
