Job summary

A rare opportunity has opened up for a salaried GP to join our small, friendly and supportive team in beautiful Great Bedwyn where we strive to provide traditional family medicine.

We have very high patient satisfaction, a stable population and enjoy good continuity of care with our patients. We welcome anyone who is interested to come and see for yourself what a special place our surgery is.

Main duties of the job

Working over four sessions per week, with 15 minute appointments and no duty sessions, in a small team of GP's where you would be very well supported, initially for a fixed-term 12 month contract with potential for permanent contract.

About us

The Old School House Surgery is situated by the Kennet & Avon canal in the North Wessex Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are direct train links to London from the village and nearby motorway links. We have the historic Savernake Forest nearby and the market towns of Marlborough and Hungerford and a lovely village store with post office and bakery adjacent to the practice.

We are a dispensing practice serving around 3600 patients and part of the East Kennet PCN. The practice is long-established in providing training for GP trainees as well as Bristol medical students.

Our QOF achievement is high, along with a good CQC rating and platinum carers accreditation. The practice is veteran-friendly RCGP accreditation, a registered park run practice and within our team has a mental health first aider.

The Old School House Surgery also offers additional services which include minor surgery, joint injections, cryotherapy as well as LARC services. We also host ARRS staff at the practice which include a clinical pharmacist, social prescriber, care co-ordinator, health and wellbeing coach and a monthly in-house care of the elderly consultant clinic.
