Morgan Hunt is currently working with a Cambridge based college in search of a permanent PR, Content and Communications Officer.

The position is offered on permanent, hybrid basis on a salary of £28-£34k p/a.

The role is a lovely opportunity for a diverse communications candidate looking to either continue their career or step into the education sector.

Key responsibilities of the PR, Content and Communications Officer:

  • Working with the Director and team develops the College’s PR & Communications Strategy; seeking to build the College’s profile in the region, nationally, internationally, commercially and amongst relevant trade sectors.
  • Pro-actively works to uncover and promote the work, activities and successes of departments and functions across the College of staff, students and alumni.
  • Gathers, builds and maintains a library of case studies from current and former students and employers including testimonials, photos and videos.
  • Actively researches stories for press releases and liaises with local, regional and international media.
  • Works with the team and leads on the development and delivery of core corporate communications.
  • Develops and delivers relevant reports and materials for corporation.
  • Manages and monitors the college’s social media channels, building the social media strategy to grow the follower base and engagement levels with the wider team.
  • Works with Marketing team and area leads to advise on and deliver compelling content marketing strategies to support application growth, employer engagement, commercial service sales and international engagement.
  • Works closely with the wider Marketing team and takes an active role in the delivery of promotional events across the department to ensure excellent event delivery including recruitment events, open days, awards evenings, employer events and school events.

 

Previous experience and skills of the new PR, Content and Communications Officer:

  • Wealth of experience working in PR
  • Experience in the public sector, preferably in education sector
  • Social media management experience, knowledge of content management tools
  • Excellent journalistic style writing skills, ability to identify a compelling story and create attention grabbing press releases
  • Stakeholder engagement management skills
