This is a rare opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Group at one of the best state boarding schools in England. The School is seeking to appoint an innovative and ambitious leader to oversee our extensive and vibrant co-curricular programme.

This is a new and significant senior appointment for the School. In recent years the co-curricular programme has grown considerably, in addition, we have completed the development of our Sports Hub, including new sports hall and second all-weather pitch and the near-completion of our Performing Arts Centre.

The person appointed will be principally responsible for the leadership of the School’s co-curricular provision, however, the role will involve significant whole-school strategic input.  The position is open to both teaching and non-teaching staff and is equivalent to a deputy head position.  Previous experience in a boarding school is desirable, but not essential.

Set in an attractive 50-acre Surrey site, the School enjoys excellent facilities and an aspirational learning environment. Gordon’s is an academically non-selective co-ed school, with 11 Houses; where all students are considered boarders, with 280 residential boarders, and a thriving sixth form of over 350.  High standards are a hallmark of the School with five outstanding Ofsted judgements in the last decade.

Although non-selective, Gordon’s is an academic and active school with an ethos that places students’ co-curricular engagement at the heart of academic success and outstanding pastoral care.

Site visits are encouraged and further details of the post can be found on the attached candidate booklet and job description.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 2 May 2024 at 12 noon.
