Job summary

Melstock older person inpatient mental health team have a unique opportunity for a Clinical Team Leader based at Melstock House, Dorchester to join.

Melstock House is a mixed-sex assessment unit designed specifically to cater to the older adult population struggling with functional mental health illnesses. Our unit is focused on providing superior care and treatment to individuals navigating acute phases of their psychiatric, social, psychological, and emotional health issues.

As a Clinical Team Leader you will undertake a dual clinical and leadership role; acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager.You will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the ward, be a main point of contact for advice/decisions and will support, supervise, and manage staff.

This is a full time post, fixed term for 12 months working on a rota basis:Early: 06:45 - 14:15 Late: 12:45 - 20:15 Long Day: 06:45 - 20:15Night: 19:45 - 07:15

Main duties of the job

You will have regular clinical and management supervision as part of our support system.

You will assist in the delivery of local and nationally required outcomes and will often be given a lead role to manage in their own right.

You will lead team(s) of nurses at Band 6 and below in providing patient care.You will substitute on behalf of the Ward Manager in their absence and for other nursing staff when necessary.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
