Bradley's Practice

Position - Monday - Friday 12.00pm - 6.30pm

The role of a Receptionist is to be the welcoming face of the practice, dealing with telephone calls and visitors and an effective manner. The work is varied and interesting and can be challenging.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a self motivated individual who is capable of working on their own initiative and also who can work well with others. You would need to be well organised and be patient focused. Excellent IT skills are an advantage as most of the work involves using PC's on a daily basis. Would be an advantage if you have previous reception experience.

About us

At Bradley's Practice we have 10 partner GP's, Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Health Care Assistants - these clinical staff are supported by reception and admin staff, who in turn are all managed by our Practice Manager. We are a dual sited practice with offices in both Buckley and Mold which cover a wide practice area, with approx 17500 patients.

Job Description

Medical Receptionist

Operating Telecommunications System

Receive and make Practice telephone calls, e.g. dealing with patient queries.

Reconnecting regular telephone service, diversion of telephone to night service.

Maintaining telephone directory of necessary telephone contacts.

Receiving and recording messages for Doctors and other members of staff, ensuring that any information about unresolved matters is passed on.

Reporting faults associated with Norstar telephone system.

Operation Of Computer Clinic System

Adding and cancelling appointments on computerised system.

Identifying patient details and amending where necessary.

Generating repeat prescription orders and printing.

Reporting faults with hardware or software relating to Vision medical system to supervisor.

Inputting requests for Home Visits onto the computer.

Using Electronic Mail to sent and receive messages, internally and externally.

Receive and Assist Patients

Deal with patient enquires including registering patients, explaining surgery procedures and giving general advice relating to non-clinical issues.

Identify and pass on patient prescription sheets.

Collect and record dispensing/private fees and provide receipts where applicable.

Inform patients of complaints procedures and log any informal complaints.

Order ambulance transport for patient when required.

Retrieve and File Medical Notes

Retrieve and forward medical notes to GPs, Practice Nurses and other Health Care Professionals when requested.

Retrieve and forward necessary claim forms to GPs and other Health Care Professionals.

Prepare and file records and any documents for clinics.

Filing and extracting records and any documents required in the Doctors general work.

Stock Control

Ensuring an adequate supply of stationary, documents, bottles etc.

Maintain Reception Area

Making sure any displays/patient notices are kept tidy and up to date.

Making sure the reception desk is attended at all times.

Security of Premises

Opening and closing premises when necessary.
