Spencer Court offers residential care for 46 residents, situated close to the centre of the charming Oxfordshire town of Woodstock. This modern home, designed with comfort and wellbeing in mind, exudes a homely atmosphere.

Kitchen Assistant

Location: Spencer Court, Woodstock, Oxfordshire

Pay rate: £12.13 per hour, weekend and NVQ enhancements available

Contracted hours: 21 Hours per week

Shift pattern: 7:00am - 2:00pm and 8:00am - 3:00pm (Working Alternate Weekends)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate, hard-working and friendly catering team.As a Kitchen Assistant you will be responsible for helping to prepare the meals, snacks and drinks for residents within the guidelines set by the Home Manager and Chef / Cook. You will understand and promote the philosophy of choice rights and fulfilment for all residents. You will get to know the residents and understand their likes and dislikes to ensure that they enjoy their dining experience.

In joining us, you’ll also become part of our extended family. You’ll work alongside other team members who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to all those who live and work in our homes.

Spencer Court is situated a stone's throw from historic Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, in the charming town of Woodstock. The home offers high-quality and compassionate residential and early-stage dementia care for up to 46 residents in a calm, friendly and comfortable surroundings.

ABOUT YOU

You don’t need to have previous formal catering experience, as we’ll give you the training you need, although it would be helpful if you hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. What we’re looking for is someone who is keen on cooking and takes pride in kitchen hygiene standards. You’ll have a positive can-do approach, with good communication skills and you’ll be passionate about ensuring our residents receive the best service possible.

You’ll be confident in engaging with our elderly residents to understand their individual needs and enjoy being part of the wider team in the home.
