We are recruiting for a Production Manager from a manufacturing background to join a leading plastics manufacturer in this brand new role based in Hereford on a permanent, full time basis.

As Production Manager you will work Monday to Friday 8am-5pm with a salary of £45k per annum plus excellent benefits as below.

Reporting into Operations Manager, you will responsibility for managing the manufacturing facility including the direct management for 3 Production Shift Managers who work across 3 shifts. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the creation of the production plan and inform the Operations Manager of any implications.
  • Responsible for the execution of the production plan.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes deliver the planned output and Yield performance
  • Ensure products are manufactured to meet the customer expectations and specification
  • Responsible for resource planning and manage the workforce in line with the company policy
  • Ensure production data accuracy is maintained and verified
  • Provide the Operations Manager with performance reports on a regular basis
  • Create and publish KPI’s relating to the production performance on a daily basis
  • Provide the General Manager with regular asset condition reports
  • Ensure all tools and machines are maintained to a high standard
  • Support the Operations Manager to implement improvements and projects as required
 
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Production Manager within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in managing large workforce on multiple shifts
  • Understanding of plastic manufacturing processes would be advantageous
  • Formal Management qualification is desirable
  • Plastic Extrusion or Moulding Industry Experience is desirable
  • Continuous improvement techniques
  • Good IT skills in particular Excel and MRP/ ERP systems
  • Good attention to detail
  • Dynamic and enthusiastic shop floor management style
  • Excellent communication skills
