You will primarily be working in Ashfield Gardens (Ashfield Social Care Farm and Gardens, Sugarloaf Lane, Iverley, DY10 3PB), but must be willing to work across all 3 of our Stourbridge communities when required.
Purpose:
To provide cover or additional support to ensure that the day opportunities run smoothly, that the people we support are guided effectively and according to their level of understanding and are supported according to their needs.
Salary:
£11.45 per hour.
Hours:
Bank. Shifts are from 9:00am to 16:00pm Monday to Friday with occasional opportunities to work weekends.

Who are we looking for?
Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or have volunteering experience within the charitable sector is essential.
Experience and knowledge of gardening and/or farming is essential.
Experience in teaching and /or delivering group activities is desirable.
A willingness to work outdoors throughout the year is essential.
Previous experience of working within a workshop setting, ideally with adults with learning disabilities is desirable.
Experience in a cooking and / or craft environment would be desirable.
Must be physically fit and able to carry out manual labour.
You will have a reasonable general education (including evidence of numeracy and literacy), have proficient computer skills and either an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this.
A full, valid, UK driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential as you will be working throughout our Stourbridge communities.
The ability and license to drive a minibus is highly desirable, or the willingness to work towards this (training will be provided).
You will have a willingness to participate in our cultural events i.e., Michaelmas, Candlemas, St John’s Festival and our monthly community meals.
What are the main responsibilities of this role?
Working under the direction of the Farm & Garden Manager to make sure meaningful work opportunities within the farm and garden are provided to People We Support and, where appropriate, support the obtaining of qualifications and learning, development and progression, and the promotion of the workshop to other people outside of the community seeking day placements, and work and training opportunities.
Carry out any preparation as designated or requested by the Farm & Garden Manager. Supporting the staff to prepare materials and finish work as required.
To plan, prepare and deliver projects with individuals, tailored to individual needs, abilities, and goals to create a variety of products and production items. Supporting individuals to engage in workshop activities and benefit from their time there.
Work within the Stourbridge Communities Day Opportunities to meet the operational needs of the Charity. Most shifts will involve providing cover for staff and other members of the Day Opportunities team during periods of absence e.g., annual leave, short term sickness absence or training.
To be accountable for and take responsibility for applying your learning, training, and skills to support people in a way that embodies great interactions through person centred thinking and planning using people preferred method of communication.
Ensure the workshop operates, where practicable, in accordance with the Charity’s ethos and provides produce of high quality within the production timescales necessary to meet the needs of the community.
Work within the appropriate policies, procedures, practices and controls (identifying and putting in place any that are necessary for the workshop) and that appropriate recording and reporting arrangements are used to support and evidence the meeting of the Charities contractual and regulatory requirements, having particular regard to health and safety requirements.
Maintain records as directed by the Farm & Garden Manager and support them to ensure information is kept in an orderly manner, and on a timely basis, provide any information and documentation required.
Undertake such other tasks as required individually or with others to develop and maintain the high quality of service required to fulfil the vision of the community, including for example by actively participating in regular team meetings and in relevant training and supporting festivals and other community events.
