Job summary

We have several Advanced Practice roles available for clinicians registered with the NMC, HCPC, GPhC with relevant post registration experience to join our Advanced Practice workforce.

Advanced Practice is well established at LTHT and is seen as integral to the delivery of high quality and safe patient care across the Trust. These roles would be joining an evolving and progressive workforce contributing to an innovative, transformative and sustainable services to meet the current and future needs of our patients.

We are offering Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (TACP) posts in a number of specialties across the organisation. These posts will be provided as higher-level apprenticeships in Advanced Practice, initially on a 3-year training contract and include the completion of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

TACPs will be supported through high-quality clinical supervision, with time dedicated for training and continuing professional development.

There are several roles available across many Clinical Service Unit (CSU) specialties. Please refer to the attached additional information document for individual CSU adverts, contacts and specific details of roles.

Older Peoples Medicine/SDEC

Main duties of the job

This role will involve both clinical and academic training, supported by LTHT as your employer and our chosen HEE accredited Higher Education Institute. As this is an apprenticeship programme much of your learning and training will be achieved in the workplace as an integrated part of the clinical workforce.

As a TACP you will work as part of our multi-professional workforce providing direct clinical care, assessing and diagnosing patients as well as implementing and evaluating treatment and interventions alongside the medical teams. You will be supported to work towards being an autonomous practitioner across all four pillars of advanced practice and demonstrating the capabilities of the Multi-Professional Advanced Practice Framework (HEE 2017).

Successful completion of training includes the completion of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, achievement of specialty capability frameworks and demonstration of advanced level practice in leadership, research and education as well as direct clinical practice. On successful completion all trainees will be eligible to transition into a permanent Band 8a ACP post within their specialty.

As an organisation we are committed to supporting flexible working including part time hours however as part of the apprentice standard, the minimum contracted hours allowable are 30 hours per week.
