Job description

Job responsibilities

You will be supporting a man with an Acquired Brain Injury providing one-on-one support including personal care and to accompany the individual on social activities while at home and abroad, enabling him to fulfil his wishes of attending day centres in his local area and exploring his surroundings when on international holidays

This post will be a bank contract with the aim to support our client for approximately 1 day per weekand to travel for holidays and trips of between 2 days and 4 weeks in duration as and when required.

Training can be provided for the right candidate and regular supervisions will take place to support you.

*We require Male Support Workers due to the occupational requirements of the client making this role compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010

What you'll be working:

  • 7 Hours shift weekdays variable when travelling

Salary:

  • £12.00 per hour weekdays
  • £13.00 per hour weekends
  • £25.00 per hour Bank holidays
  • £157.00 per day when travelling

What you will be doing:

  • Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems
  • Liaise with and support the family as required
  • Assist the client with personal care as needed
  • Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
  • Travel on international holidays with the client
  • Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate

Qualified staff assess clients needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have five offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 clients nationally.

JSP are not an employment agency, we help our clients to recruit their own support workers as part of our case management service, You will be employed directly by the client,however, JSP oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.
