This
opportunity would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 dietitian or above working
in the NHS (or equivalent) that has expertise in teaching, training, and
supervision. This post is suited to working alongside a 0.5FTE Clinical role.
As
a Lecturer, you will be involved in supporting the delivery of our dietetics
courses and inter-professional teaching. Youll be able to inspire our
students and make a valuable contribution to their learning experience and
academic progression, whilst preparing them for contemporary practice.
Alongside this, is the opportunity to develop your career, further your own
clinical academic profile and enhance your teaching expertise, through studying
a PG Cert in Teaching in Higher Education.
Main duties of the job
You must be an HCPC-registered dietitian and have well-developed
and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical
issues relevant to contemporary practice.
Ideally, you will be at the forefront of new ways of working in
the NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation
and emergent clinical pathways.
The Team is currently developing workstreams in respect of a new
curriculum for our MSc Dietetics (pre-registration) course, innovating apprenticeship
delivery and creating simulation for professional skills teaching.
Additionally, there are opportunities to contribute to our AHP Health and
Social Care Research Centre with a focus on long term conditions. It is
envisaged that you would be part of these innovations, shaping dietetic
education in higher education, whilst retaining strong links with practice partners.
You will also contribute to our undergraduate Dietetic Degree
apprenticeship course (pre-registration) through teaching, assessing and
academic citizenship/research activity. You will be able to inspire, enthuse
and connect with a range of backgrounds.
