The closing date is 22 June 2024
Job summary
A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic clinical psychologist to join our Enhanced rehabilitation and recovery pathway. The pathway provides both inpatient and community services for people who have ongoing mental health difficulties such as psychosis.
The pathway is psychology led with a well-established psychology team. We are developing innovative services, using service evaluation and research to understand and improve our models and interventions. We have an impressive record of publishing in peer reviewed journals and securing research grants. We have close links with the local university with qualified psychologists holding honorary lecture posts. There will be opportunities for research and teaching alongside the supervision of trainee psychologists.
The post would suit a qualified clinical psychologist with an interest in service development, research, and innovative services. The role is also available as a Band 7 Preceptorship (progression to Band 8A upon completion of Preceptorship).
We encourage applications from applied psychologists who have HCPC registration.

Main duties of the job
The Enhanced rehabilitation and recovery pathway
The community enhanced rehabilitation team (CERT) is an innovative, psychology led team delivering rehabilitation interventions in a community setting. The team has excellent outcomes which have been published. The inpatient services are based across two hospitals (Stewart House and the Willows) where psychology is well established. The new hospital placements team will review service users who need a specialist placement that is not offered within the trust. Psychological formulation will be central to this process and a central aim of the team will be to repatriate people when possible and design care packages which are close to home.
Although the post holder will work across the pathway, this role is specifically to work into CERT and the new placements team. As such, there will be the opportunity for service development and evaluation. You will undertake psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team and hold a caseload. There is also the opportunity for group work and to design and deliver staff training, consultation and supervision. The post holder will be expected to contribute to inpatient and community service developments as well as our research and service evaluation programme.
