Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietician to join the community nutrition and dietetics team predominantly based at the East Oxford Health Centre.

Main duties of the job

To provide a dietetic service and give nutritional advice to adult and paediatric patients, with a range of conditions, in the primary care setting. This includes the assessment and treatment of patients and working as an integral member of the MDT to provide a flexible, prioritised service based on clinical need.

Location: East Oxford Health Centre, 1 Manzil Way, Oxford, OX4 1XD

Trust: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

Hours: 37.5 hours Monday-Friday

Shift Pattern: 8:00-16:00 (Flexible working pattern available)

Pay Rate: £21.80

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietician to join the community nutrition and dietetics team predominantly based at the East Oxford Health Centre.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain and utilise broad clinical experience within our service which supports adults and children across Oxfordshire. You will be an integral member of the team sharing the caseload for home enterally fed patients both in the clinic setting and conducting home visits for patients in their own homes and nursing homes. This includes transition patients from paediatric to adults.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Their services are delivered across the community in hospitals, clinics, community bases and in patients homes, as they focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of the community dietetics services to adult and paediatric patients in the community. This includes working within the existing dietetic team, supporting junior staff and linking with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. You will be responsible for designing individual client-centred treatment plans, involving nutritional assessment and calculation of nutritional requirements based on the interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry, clinical condition, and diet history.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Current relevant professional registration
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Enhanced DBS
  • UK/NHS experience
  • Experience of supervising staff
