Rossendale Minor Injury Unit -Bank ANP/ACP

Pay: Up to £29.03 per hour for an ACP with either a Masters, credentialed or HEE portfolio. Enhancements for weekend work.

Base:The post will be based at the Rossendale Minor Injuries Unit in Rawtenstall which aims to deliver services between 8am 8pm 7 days a week, 365 days per year

Main duties of the job

It is essential that applicants for this role have a depth of understanding and relevant experience in the assessment and management of minor injuries of both children and adults. Expanded roles such as infiltration of local anaesthesia and suturing/plastering are desirable. The post holder will be able to pick up available shifts to cover vacancies, sickness, annual leave, or unplanned absences and a short induction programme will be offered to help settle in successful applicants. Rotas are planned several months in advance, so bank shifts can be allocated well in advance, or where there is prior knowledge of shortfalls covering the service.

It will be the responsibility of the post holder, to clinically assess, diagnose and treat all aspects of minor injury presentations, exercising clinical expertise, levels of judgment, discretion and clinical decision making as demonstrated under agreed parameters and provide a high standard of autonomous care for patients of all ages.

Post holders will be expected to triage and signpost patients who arrive at the Minor injury unit, with illness presentations. It is expected however, for those patients who present as very unwell, emergency interventions are implemented until an ambulance arrives. There will also be opportunity to be able to remotely triage for other sites across FCMS on weekend shifts.

Support the Management team and Clinical manager to ensure all service KPIs/Targets all are met, and looking for improvement over and above the set commissioned targets
